Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, and Charley Hull heads to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, five-time major champion Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; he remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited on LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns near career end and aiming for a solid retirement fund. It’s not surprising he foregoes his final contracted season, though questions remain around any buyout or repayment of guaranteed salary. He still owns the LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife about which fairways Koepka will soon appear on. The DP World Tour would grant immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after the lifetime bans were softened by former commissioner Jay Monahan. It made sense not to hold grudges as every LIV returnee, especially a star like Koepka, benefits the dominant PGA Tour. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership which had not been extended post-2022 and to rejoin the playing field.
