Membership Reinstated, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns to compete at 62, Charley Hull launches YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he partially lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injuries and to secure retirement earnings. His skipping the final contractual season raises questions about possible buyouts or partial paybacks. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will next compete. The DP World Tour would allow immediate play, potentially with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance given previous lifetime bans were reduced. This question has been partly answered: ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
