Membership Reinstated, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to play again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, found limited motivation at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injuries threatening his career and to secure a comfortable retirement fund. Questions remain whether he had to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed fee. He remains owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife on where Koepka will appear next—DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following softened lifetime bans. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
