Koepka reapplies for membership: Prepares PGA Tour comeback

Bryson DeChambeau confirms LIV start in 2026, Vijay Singh aims for PGA comeback at 62, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

Expected? Brooks Koepka, the five-time major winner, has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League’s 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The LIV CEO Scott McNeil states Koepka remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, with the decision reached amicably. Koepka, known for thriving in high-level competition, hasn’t fully ignited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to career-ending injury concerns and financial reasons. His skipping the final contracted season raises questions: Has he repaid some guaranteed money? Does he remain owner of LIV Team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation surrounds which tours Koepka will next compete on — DP World Tour where he could play immediately, perhaps with a penalty, or PGA Tour where a one-year suspension applies post-LIV participation. Former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime suspensions have been softened. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his previously non-renewed PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
