Despite LIV Returnees, YouTube Star Wesley Bryan Remains Suspended from PGA Tour

Following the comebacks of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed on the PGA Tour, debate reignites over YouTube golf star Wesley Bryan’s suspension.

Ten months ago, PGA Tour pro and YouTube star Wesley Bryan was indefinitely suspended by the PGA Tour. The reason was his participation in an LIV Golf creator event, the “LIV Duels,” which directly competed against the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic. With Koepka and Reed making their returns, Bryan had hoped to play again in the upcoming season on the world’s biggest golf tour.

No Chance for Wesley Bryan’s Return Yet

However, Bryan has not been granted a chance to return at this time. “Unfortunately, Brooks Koepka’s comeback on the tour has no bearing on my situation,” Bryan stated on X. “I requested a conversation to potentially lift my suspension but was informed that no such discussion will take place.” Fans and outsiders express confusion, as Bryan, unlike other players cleared to return, never officially played for LIV Golf but participated in a 9-hole scramble YouTube event co-hosted with LIV Golf, which many see as different circumstances.

One-Year Suspension for Returnees

Other previously suspended players like Kevin Na, Pat Perez, and Hudson Swafford will also return to the PGA Tour after their time with LIV Golf, but must wait to debut compared to Reed and Koepka. Players not meeting the “Returning Member Program” criteria can only start in the following season. Perez and Swafford have officially regained PGA membership but cannot compete in tournaments until 2027.

Speculation exists that a similar option might arise for Wesley Bryan once a year has passed since participating in the “LIV Duels.” Whether the PGA Tour will grant this once to the tour winner remains to be seen.
