Despite LIV Returnees, YouTube Star Wesley Bryan Remains Suspended from PGA Tour

After Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed’s comebacks, debate reignites over YouTube star Wesley Bryan’s PGA Tour suspension.

Ten months ago, PGA Tour pro and YouTube star Wesley Bryan was indefinitely suspended by the PGA Tour for participating in a LIV Golf Creator Event called the ‘LIV Duels,’ which competed with the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic. With Koepka and Reed returning, Bryan hoped to rejoin the world’s biggest golf tour for the new season.

No Chance for Probation for Wesley Bryan

However, Bryan will not get that chance at present. “Unfortunately, Brooks Koepka’s return has no bearing on my situation,” Bryan announced on X. “I requested a conversation to possibly lift my suspension, but was informed no such discussion will take place.” Many fans are puzzled, as Bryan, unlike players who were granted permission, never officially competed for LIV Golf but took part in a 9-hole scramble YouTube event in cooperation with LIV Golf, which many argue is not the same.

One-Year Suspension for Returnees

Besides Bryan, Koepka, and Reed, other previously suspended players like Kevin Na, Pat Perez, and Hudson Swafford are set to return to the PGA Tour after their time at LIV Golf. However, unlike Koepka and Reed, they must wait before making their debut, as those not meeting the “Returning Member Program” criteria can only start in the next season. Perez and Swafford have regained PGA membership but can only compete starting in 2027.

Speculation exists that a similar option may become available for Bryan if over a year has passed since the LIV Duels participation. Whether the PGA Tour will offer this to the one-time tour winner remains uncertain.
