Despite LIV Comebacks, YouTube Star Wesley Bryan Remains Suspended from PGA Tour

After Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed return to the PGA Tour, debate reignites over YouTube golf star Wesley Bryan’s suspension.

Ten months ago, PGA Tour professional and YouTube star Wesley Bryan was indefinitely suspended by the PGA Tour. The reason was his participation in a LIV Golf Creator Event, the “LIV Duels,” which competes with the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic. With the comebacks of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed, Bryan had hoped to participate again in the biggest golf tour for the new season.

No Probation Chance Yet for Wesley Bryan

However, at this time, Wesley Bryan does not get this chance. “Unfortunately, Brooks Koepka’s return to the tour has no bearing on my situation,” Bryan announced on X. “I requested a meeting to potentially lift my suspension, but I was told no such meeting would take place.” Many fans and outsiders view the situation with confusion, as Bryan, compared to other players who have received approval, never officially played for LIV Golf. Instead, he participated in a 9-hole scramble YouTube event held in cooperation with LIV Golf, and many see these situations as not equal.

One-Year Suspension for Returnees

There are other cases besides Bryan, Koepka, and Reed where previously suspended players might return to the PGA Tour in the future. Kevin Na, Pat Perez, and Hudson Swafford will return from LIV Golf to American soil but must wait for their debut compared to Reed and Koepka. Players who do not meet the criteria of the “Returning Member Program” can only compete starting next season. Perez and Swafford have officially regained PGA membership but can only participate in tournaments from 2027 onward.

It is speculated that this option might also become available for Wesley Bryan in the future if his participation in the “LIV Duels” is over a year ago. Whether the PGA Tour will offer this to the one-time tour winner remains to be seen.
