The official field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event in Florida has been announced, with two league spots up for grabs.
The 87-player field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event is now confirmed. The tournament will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. Unlike last year’s event in Saudi Arabia, which offered just one league spot, this year’s edition will award two. LIV Golf has increased the stakes and revamped its promotion and relegation system in hopes of earning Official World Golf Ranking points.
Big names headline LIV Golf Promotions field
German-speaking players Maximilian Kieffer and Matthias Schwab are among the contenders aiming to secure a coveted spot in the LIV Golf League. The field also includes ten top players from the International Series, such as Philippine champion Miguel Tabuena, India’s Ollie Schniederjans, and Jakarta winner Wade Ormsby. These players are automatically qualified for the second round, along with relegated and released LIV players like Ben Campbell, Matt Jones, Andy Ogletree, Anthony Kim, Max Rottluff, and John Catlin.
Notable European names include former Ryder Cup player and BMW PGA champion Chris Wood, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, and Open Championship silver medalist Tom Lewis. Former DPWT regulars Callum Shinkwin and Lucas Bjerregaard are also in the field, as are Walker Cup players Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster.
According to LIV Golf, 50 of the 87 players have won a tournament in the past two years, including 39 different winners of OWGR-sanctioned events in 2025. “The evolution of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our ongoing commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players around the world to compete at the highest level,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. “It will be a high-stakes, intense competition from start to finish, and we look forward to celebrating those who earn their chance at LIV Golf’s biggest season yet.”
PGA Tour players barred from competing
Once again, no PGA Tour players will participate, as the Tour has classified the four-day event as an unauthorized tournament. Any members who compete would face a one-year suspension.
The tension between the two professional golf leagues remains high. The debate was recently reignited when Laurie Canter gave up his PGA Tour card to return to the Saudi-backed league.
