Several German-speaking pros compete for three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 at Florida Promotions.
From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The path to qualification consists of four stroke-play rounds with daily cuts and new chances. Those who make it to the weekend compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million US dollars and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three spots for the 2026 LIV Golf League come with guaranteed starts in all 13 events, while ten more earn starts in the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?
The field features tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking players see the event as a real opportunity and possibly the start of a new chapter.
Max Kieffer Faces the Next Chapter
For Max Kieffer, this event might be his most important appearance since his DP World Tour win in 2022. After 13 years on the European main tour, his card is gone. The 2025 season did not go as planned with a drop in ranking and missing Q-School. Now LIV Golf represents a new path. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and the clear mindset that his career is not over: \”We’re not done yet,\” he recently said. Florida will show how far his road back truly is.
Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Each with Their Own Story
Another approach but similar ambitions: Dominic Foos attracted attention in 2025 with a win on the Asian Tour. His consistent play and international experience paved his way into the Promotions. Now he aims for more. For the 28-year-old, moving into the LIV Golf League would not only be a sporting step up but also a catapult into the tour’s spotlight.
Nick Bachem’s 2025 ended bitterly due to injury, form struggles, and finishing last at Q-School. However, those who know the 26-year-old know he doesn’t give up easily. He has already proven he can win at a top level. Similarly, Austrian Matthias Schwab missed the final stage of Q-School and thus lost any realistic chance of a tour card. After years on the PGA and DP World Tours, he now seeks a new path — LIV Golf could offer that. Maximilian Rottluff approaches the LIV Golf Promotions with a unique perspective. The 32-year-old qualified last year for the International Series on the Asian Tour through this very event.
