Several German-speaking pros compete at LIV Golf Promotions in Florida for three spots in the 2026 LIV Golf League.
From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida, will bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wildcard spots in the LIV Golf League 2026. The path is four rounds of stroke play, with a new cut each day and fresh chances. Those who make it to the weekend will compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million USD and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 with guaranteed starts at all 13 events are available, while ten others will secure playing rights for the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?
The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s about a comeback; for others, the first major breakthrough. Among them are five German-speaking participants for whom this event represents a genuine opportunity and perhaps the beginning of a new chapter.
Max Kieffer Approaches a New Chapter
For Max Kieffer, this event may be his most important appearance since his 2022 DP World Tour victory. After 13 years in Europe’s top tier, he lost his tour card. The 2025 season did not go as planned: Kieffer dropped in the rankings and missed Q-School. Now it’s LIV Golf. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and a clear mindset that it’s not over yet: “We’re not done yet,” he recently wrote. Florida will show how far the road back really is.
Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Each with Their Own Story
Another approach but a similar goal: Dominic Foos caught attention in 2025 with a win on the Asian Tour. Consistent play and international experience paved his way to the promotions. He now wants more; for the 28-year-old, a leap into the LIV Golf League would be a sporting elevation and a springboard into the tour’s spotlight.
Nick Bachem’s 2025 ended bitterly with injury, a slump, and last place at Q-School – a year gone awry. But those who know the 26-year-old know he won’t give up easily. He has shown he can win at a top level. Similarly, Matthias Schwab missed the final round of Q-School and thus any realistic chance for a tour card. After years on the PGA and DP World Tour, he is now seeking a new path – LIV Golf could offer that. Maximilian Rottluff approaches the LIV Golf Promotions with a unique perspective. The 32-year-old qualified last year for the International Series of the Asian Tour via this very tournament.
Familiar Names and Open Chapters at LIV Golf
The international field features many well-known global professional golfers, including Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood (England) and five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France). Also present are Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), who ranked among the top three in the 2025 International Series, and Pablo Ereno
