Player Field Grows to 57 in 2026
The LIV Golf League will start the 2026 season with an expanded field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players across 13 teams, with each team composed of four players. Additionally, the field includes 5 wildcard players who compete independently from the teams but have guaranteed starting spots in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct entries to the 2026 season will be awarded, increasing from the previous two spots available via this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This event serves as a key qualifier and is played as a 72-hole stroke play with a unique staged scoring system featuring multiple score resets, creating a dynamic competition.
On the first day, the top 20 players and ties qualify for day two, after which scores are reset. Day two’s field is supplemented with automatically qualified players before the top 20 and ties advance to the next round.
Another score reset happens before day three, after which a 36-hole total score over days three and four determines final placements. The top three finishers earn a spot in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full starting rights in the 2026 International Series.
