LIV Golf Expands Field to 57 Players for 2026 Season

LIV Golf grows further in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players plus new qualification and wildcard opportunities.

Starting from the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, enabled by additional wildcards and new qualification routes.

Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026

The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with a larger player field. Previously smaller, the league will now include 57 players. These players will compete across 13 teams, each consisting of four players. The field is further supplemented by five wildcard players who will compete independently of teams but have guaranteed starting spots in all 13 regular season events.

New Qualification Opportunities

Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct starting spots will be awarded for the 2026 season, increased from two spots previously available via this qualification format.

LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars

The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This central qualifying event will be played as a 72-hole stroke play tournament featuring a special stage system with multiple score resets to keep the competition dynamic.

On the first day, the top 20 players and ties will qualify for the second day, after which scores are reset. The field for day two will be supplemented by automatically qualified players, and again the top 20 and ties will advance to the next round.

Before day three, another score reset occurs. A 36-hole scoring over days three and four will determine the final rankings. The top three finishers secure a place in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten earn full playing rights for the 2026 International Series.
