LIV Golf is expanding its field to 57 players with new qualification routes and wildcards for the 2026 season.
From the LIV Golf 2026 season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.
Field increases to 57 players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with a larger field. In the future, 57 players will be part of the league, up from a smaller field in previous seasons. Thirteen teams will each field four players. Additionally, 5 wildcard players, competing independently from teams but guaranteed starting spots at all 13 regular season events, will be added.
New qualification opportunities
In 2026, LIV Golf Promotions will award three direct entries into the season, increased from two places previously available through this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A stage for rising players
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. The tournament serves as the central qualifying event and is played over 72 holes stroke play using a unique tiered scoring system with multiple score resets, making the competition particularly dynamic.
On day one, the top 20 players and ties qualify for day two. Scores are then reset. Day two’s field is supplemented by automatically qualified players, with the top 20 and ties advancing again.
Before day three, scores reset once more. A 36-hole scoring over days three and four determines final placements. The top three players earn a spot in the LIV Golf League while the top ten secure full entry into the 2026 International Series.
