LIV Golf grows in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players and new qualification paths and wildcards.
For the 2026 season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch its 2026 season with a larger player field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players organized into 13 teams, each consisting of four players. The field will also include 5 wildcard players who will compete independently from teams but are guaranteed starts at all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
In 2026, LIV Golf Promotions will award three direct starting spots for the season, increased from the previous two spots through this qualifying format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place January 8-11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This key qualification event is played over 72 holes of stroke play, featuring a unique tiered scoring system with multiple score resets to maintain a dynamic competition.
On day one, the top 20 players and ties qualify for day two, after which scores reset. The field expands with automatically qualified players, and again the top 20 and ties advance to the next round. Another reset before day three leads to a 36-hole scoring across days three and four to finalize placements. The top three earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full status for the 2026 International Series.
