LIV Golf grows in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification paths, and wildcards.
From the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will feature a larger field in 2026, increasing to 57 players from a previously smaller roster. Thirteen teams will each have four players competing. In addition, the field includes five wildcard players who compete independently of the teams but have guaranteed spots in all 13 regular-season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct entries for the 2026 season will be awarded, an increase from the two available previously via this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This event serves as the central qualifier and is played as a 72-hole stroke play tournament with a special tiered system involving multiple score resets, making the competition highly dynamic.
On Day 1, the top 20 players and ties qualify for Day 2, after which scores are reset. Additional players who automatically qualify join Day 2, and again the top 20 and ties advance.
Before Day 3, scores are reset once more. A 36-hole score across Days 3 and 4 then determines final rankings. The top three players secure a place in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten earn full status for the 2026 International Series.
