LIV Golf continues to grow in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification routes, and wildcards.
In the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success. This is made possible by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with a larger field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players. These competitors will play in 13 teams, each consisting of four players. The field will also include 5 wildcards, who will compete independently from the teams but have guaranteed starting spots in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct start rights for the 2026 season will be awarded, up from two previously available spots via this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. The tournament serves as the central qualifier and will be played over 72 holes stroke play using a unique staged scoring system with multiple score resets, making the competition especially dynamic.
On the first day, the top 20 players and ties qualify for the second day, after which scores are reset. The second day field includes automatically qualified players, and again, the top 20 and ties advance. Prior to the third day, scores are reset once more. The final standings, determined by a 36-hole stroke play over day three and four, will grant LIV Golf League spots to the top three players. Additionally, the top ten earn full eligibility for the 2026 International Series.
