LIV Golf grows in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification paths, and additional wildcards.
Starting with the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, made possible by additional wildcards and new qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with a larger field. Moving forward, 57 players will be part of the league, increased from previous smaller fields. The league consists of 13 teams with four players each. The field is complemented by five wildcard players who compete independently of the teams but have guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct tour cards for the 2026 season will be awarded, up from two in prior years via this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Emerging Talents
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will be held from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This central qualifying event features a 72-hole stroke play format with a unique stage system involving multiple score resets for dynamic competition.
On the first day, the top 20 players and ties advance to day two, after which scores are reset. Day two adds automatically qualified players and again selects the top 20 and ties for the next round. Before day three, scores reset once more. The final rankings are decided over a 36-hole score across days three and four. The top three earn a place in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full starts in the 2026 International Series.
