LIV Golf grows in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification routes, and additional wildcards.
From the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification methods.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch its 2026 season with a larger field. The league will feature 57 players, up from a smaller previous size. They will compete in 13 teams, each with four players. The field will also include 5 wildcards who compete independently of teams but have guaranteed entries into all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
In 2026, LIV Golf Promotions will award three direct tour cards for the season, up from two cards previously available through this qualifying format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: Platform for Rising Stars
The third LIV Golf Promotions event will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This central qualifying tournament is a 72-hole stroke play event featuring a special tiered system with multiple score resets to keep the competition dynamic.
On day one, the top 20 players plus ties advance to day two, after which scores are reset. Additional automatically qualified players join for day two, and again the top 20 and ties move on.
Before day three, scores reset once more. The final ranking after a 36-hole combined scoring over days three and four determines the winners. The top three earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full status for the 2026 International Series.
