LIV Golf Expands Field to 57 Players for 2026 Season

LIV Golf continues to grow in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players and new qualification routes including wildcards.

Starting with the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success, enabled by additional wildcards and new qualification opportunities.

Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026

The LIV Golf League will launch its 2026 season with a larger player field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players. These competitors will play in 13 teams, each with four players. Additionally, the field is supplemented by 5 wildcards, who compete independently from the teams but have guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.

New Qualification Opportunities

Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct starting spots for the 2026 season will be awarded, up from only two spots previously available via this qualification format.

LIV Golf Promotions 2026: Platform for Rising Stars

The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This tournament serves as the key qualification event and will be played as a 72-hole stroke play. It features a special staged scoring system with multiple score resets to add a dynamic element to the competition.

On day one, the top 20 players and ties advance to day two, after which scores are reset. The field is then supplemented by automatically qualified players for day two, where again the top 20 and ties progress to the next round.

Before day three, scores reset again. A 36-hole total over days three and four determines final placements. The top three earn a place in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full playing rights for the International Series 2026.
