LIV Golf expands its 2026 season field to 57 players with new qualification paths and wildcards.
Starting with the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success. This growth is enabled by additional wildcards and new qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with an enlarged field. Going forward, 57 players will be part of the league, an increase from previous seasons. They will compete in 13 teams with four players per team. The field is further supplemented by 5 wildcard players who compete independently of the teams but have guaranteed starts at all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions 2026, three direct tour cards will be awarded, an increase from the previous two. This gives more players the chance to qualify for the season.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. The event serves as a central qualifying competition played as a 72-hole stroke play tournament with a unique tiered scoring system featuring multiple score resets, adding dynamic competitive elements.
On day one, the top 20 players and ties advance to day two, followed by a score reset. The field is supplemented by players who automatically qualify for day two before cutting again to the top 20 and ties moving on. Another score reset occurs before day three, after which a 36-hole cumulative score over days three and four determines the final standings. The top three earn a place on the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure a full start privilege for the 2026 International Series.
