LIV Golf continues to grow in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification paths, and wildcards.

Starting with the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team successes. This growth is made possible by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.

Field Grows to 57 Players in 2026

The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with an expanded field of 57 players, larger than the previously smaller line-up. There will be 13 teams, each with four players. The field is complemented by 5 wildcard players who compete independently of the teams but have guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.

New Qualification Opportunities

Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct starting rights for the 2026 season will be awarded, up from only two previously available through this qualification format.

LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Upcoming Talent

The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This tournament serves as the central qualifying event and is played as a 72-hole stroke play. A special tiered system with multiple score resets makes the competition highly dynamic.

On day one, the top 20 players and ties qualify for the second day. Afterward, scores are reset. Day two’s field is supplemented by automatically qualified players before the top 20 and ties advance to the next round again.

Another score reset happens before day three. A 36-hole scoring over days three and four then determines the final standings. The top three earn a spot in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full status for the International Series 2026.
