Field Grows to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will start the 2026 season with an expanded field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players. Thirteen teams will each field four players. The field is supplemented by 5 wildcards, who compete independently of teams but have guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct season-starting spots will be awarded for 2026, up from two in the previous format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place January 8th to 11th at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This 72-hole stroke play event serves as a key qualifier, featuring a unique stage system with multiple score resets to keep competition dynamic.
On day one, the top 20 players plus ties qualify for day two, after which scores reset. The field for day two is supplemented by automatically qualified players, and again the top 20 and ties advance.
Before day three, scores reset once more. A 36-hole competition over days three and four determines the final rankings. The top three earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full starting rights for the 2026 International Series.
