(Joke) Question of the Year: When Will Bennett Scheffler Complete the Slam?

Koepka’s suspension, Pereira’s retirement, McIlroy’s club list, Müller’s swing tips, and a Robin Williams golf classic.

When will Scottie Scheffler complete the career Grand Slam? After winning the Masters, PGA Championship, and Open Championship, only the U.S. Open remains. With the 126th U.S. Open set for Shinnecock Hills in six months, the odds are in his favor. Bookmakers already have the world number one as the favorite for all four majors in 2026.

Given Scheffler’s dominance on the PGA Tour, it’s only a matter of time before he joins the elite group of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan, and Gene Sarazen. But while that seems inevitable, Golf Digest playfully asks: when will Bennett Scheffler complete his Grand Slam?

No, not as a player—he’s not even two years old yet. But the toddler has already witnessed two major wins in person, including a memorable moment at Royal Portrush. Since he missed the 2024 Masters due to still being in the womb, he’s technically two majors short of a fan’s Grand Slam. With his dad favored in all majors for 2026, Bennett might just complete his own version of the Slam soon.

Koepka Eyes PGA Tour Return in 2026

Brooks Koepka is eligible to return to the PGA Tour in August 2026, pending a reapplication for membership. His one-year suspension following his last LIV Golf appearance will expire then. Taylor “Asterisk” Gooch is set to replace him as Smash GC captain.

Meanwhile, Mito Pereira of Torque GC has announced his retirement from professional golf. The 30-year-old Chilean plans to focus on family life back home. In contrast, Sergio Garcia has extended his LIV Golf contract and reactivated Luis Masaveu, forming an all-Spanish Fireballs GC team with Jose Ballester and David Puig.

McIlroy’s 18 Club Memberships

Rory McIlroy is a member of 18 golf clubs worldwide, including Holywood GC, The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and the exclusive Seminole GC, where he also covers his father’s membership. With a projected +8.7 handicap based on his 2025 results, McIlroy remains one of the most sought-after names in golf.
