(Joke) Question of the Year: When Will Bennett Scheffler Complete the Slam?

Koepka’s suspension, Pereira’s retirement, McIlroy’s club list, Müller’s swing tips, and a golf classic by Robin Williams.

Scottie Scheffler is just one title away from completing the career Grand Slam. After winning the Masters, PGA Championship, and The Open, all that remains is the U.S. Open. The 126th edition at Shinnecock Hills in six months could be the moment. Given Scheffler’s dominance and shot-making prowess, it’s only a matter of time before he joins legends like McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, Player, Hogan, and Sarazen. Bookmakers already have him as the favorite for all four majors in 2026.

When Will Bennett Scheffler Complete His Slam?

With Scottie’s success seemingly inevitable, Golf Digest jokingly speculated about his son Bennett’s own “career Grand Slam.” The toddler, who turns two in May, has already “witnessed” two major wins. He was present at Royal Portrush and nearly arrived during the 2024 Masters. If Scottie keeps winning, Bennett could complete his own version of the Slam as a spectator by 2026.

Koepka’s Suspension and Pereira’s Retirement

Brooks Koepka could return to the PGA Tour by August 2026, once his one-year suspension following his last LIV Golf appearance ends—if he reapplies for membership. Taylor Gooch will replace him as Smash GC captain. Meanwhile, Mito Pereira of Torque GC has announced his retirement from professional golf at age 30 to focus on family life in Chile.

McIlroy’s 18 Club Memberships

Rory McIlroy is a member of 18 golf clubs worldwide, including his home club Holywood GC, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and the exclusive Seminole GC, where he also covers the membership for his father Gerry. With a projected +8.7 handicap for 2025, McIlroy remains one of the most sought-after names in golf.
