HotelPlanner Tour: DACH trio stays in contention at Rolex Grand Final

Steinlechner and Nemecz post even-par rounds, while Albers climbs closer to the top 20 with a strong 70.

The Rolex Grand Final of the HotelPlanner Tour remains wide open at the halfway mark. Five players share the lead at eight under par, including Scotland’s Euan Walker and the Netherlands’ Lars van Meijel. Just three shots back is Austria’s Maximilian Steinlechner, who remains in the extended circle of title contenders after two rounds. Fellow Austrian Lukas Nemecz and Germany’s Anton Albers are also within striking distance, both still fighting for a coveted DP World Tour card.

HotelPlanner Tour: Steinlechner stays steady

After a strong opening round on Thursday, Maximilian Steinlechner carried momentum into day two of the Rolex Grand Final. His second round was less spectacular but impressively consistent. The Tyrolean kept mistakes to a minimum on the front nine, with his only blemish a bogey at the par-3 4th after a long chip. Otherwise, he played steady pars, maintaining rhythm with clean ball-striking. Patience paid off on the back nine, as he rolled in a birdie on the 11th after safely reaching the green. A late bogey on 17 resulted in an even-par 72. At five under overall, Steinlechner sits in 11th place, within striking distance of the leaders.

Nemecz keeps cool in Tour card chase

Lukas Nemecz also posted an even-par 72 on Friday. The Styrian opened with a bogey on the 2nd but recovered with birdies on the 5th and 15th, surrounded by a string of steady pars. At two under total, Nemecz holds 22nd place in the current standings, keeping his hopes alive for a DP World Tour card.

Albers rebounds with upward momentum

Anton Albers delivered the response he needed on Friday. After a tough start to the tournament, the German opened with a birdie on the 1st and played solidly until a brief stumble on holes 6 and 7. He quickly recovered with a birdie on the 8th and carried that momentum into the back nine. Three more birdies on 11, 15 and 18 gave him a two-under 70 and a significant move up the leaderboard. At one under overall, Albers is back in the mix for a top finish.
