The film not only set a Netflix record with nearly 47 million streamed minutes on its opening weekend but was also watched for over 6.2 billion minutes throughout the year, consistently ranking in Netflix’s weekly Top 10. It topped the global Top 10 chart for two weeks and remained in the worldwide Top 10 for a total of five weeks.
Second Only to KPop Demon Hunters
Among 39 films released by Netflix that year, Happy Gilmore 2 ranked second in viewing time, surpassed only by “KPop Demon Hunters,” which amassed over 17 billion minutes watched globally.
