From veterans to rookies, the German-speaking field was visible on all levels this year. The golf year in review. What began with the Green Jacket in 1985 ended in 2025 with standing ovations on the 18th fairway. A Last Start at the Masters

Few moments shaped the German golf year 2025 as much as Bernhard Langer’s last appearance at the Masters in Augusta. After 41 participations, two Green Jackets, and countless rounds, the 67-year-old bid farewell to the place that made him famous. The spectators rose, applause accompanied him across every fairway. Though his farewell round did not lead him into the weekend, it ended with an emotional goodbye on the 18th green. Accompanied by his son Jason as caddie, Langer said goodbye to a place that shaped him and that he helped shape.

German Successes Across Tours

Anyone who thought Langer would hang up his clubs after his Masters farewell was proven wrong. Only months later, he showed at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open that he remains competitive, setting a new tournament record at 21 under par to win on home soil. Shortly after, Alex Cejka celebrated his first title in two years at the SAS Championship in the USA, maintaining consistent play and securing a top 15 spot in the Schwab Cup rankings.

Meanwhile, the next generation stepped up. On the DP World Tour, Nicolai von Dellingshausen clinched his first big win at the Austrian Alpine Open with precise play and a timely eagle. Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem also delivered strong performances, resulting in three Germans among the top five — a rare sight on the European Tour.

Laura Fünfstück won her first title at the PIF London Championship after over 100 tournament starts, battling back from an early deficit with birdies on the back nine, capped by a clutch birdie on the 18th hole. Olivia Cowan complemented the German results with a tie for fourth place.

At the BMW International Open, 20-year-old amateur Tim Wiedemeyer made headlines, shooting a 66 on Friday to enter the top 15, surpassing established players like Marcel Siem, Martin Kaymer, and Yannik Paul, proving that German youth is on the right path.

Dominic Foos claimed his first win on the Asian Tour at the SJM Macao Open, holding steady against an international field.

On the PGA Tour, Sepp Straka won the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club, his first signature event title and second PGA win of the season, pushing him to second place in the FedExCup and into the top 10 of the world rankings. Stephan Jäger also shined with a bogey-free T7 finish, marking his third top-10 of the season.
