A Final Start at the Masters

Few moments shaped the German golf year 2025 as much as Bernhard Langer’s final appearance at the Masters in Augusta. After 41 participations, two Green Jackets, and countless rounds, the 67-year-old bid farewell to the place that made him famous. Spectators stood as applause accompanied him across every fairway. His farewell round ended not with a weekend cut but with an emotional goodbye on the 18th green. Langer, accompanied by his son Jason as caddie, said goodbye to a place that shaped and was shaped by him.

More Sporting Chapters Unfold

Those who thought Langer would hang up his clubs after the Masters were quickly proven wrong. Just months later, he demonstrated his competitiveness again at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open, where he set a new tournament record with 21 under par and claimed victory on home soil. Shortly after, Alex Cejka celebrated his first title in two years at the SAS Championship in the USA, defending his lead with consistency and securing a spot in the top 15 of the Schwab Cup Rankings.

Emerging German Talents and International Successes

The next generation also came into focus when Nicolai von Dellingshausen secured his first major victory at the Austrian Alpine Open on the DP World Tour, joining compatriots Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem in a rare sight of three Germans in the top five. Laura Fünfstück earned her maiden title after more than 100 starts at the PIF London Championship, overcoming a challenging final round with clutch birdies. Meanwhile, 20-year-old amateur Tim Wiedemeyer impressed at the BMW International Open, finishing among the top 15. Dominic Foos marked a milestone with his first win on the Asian Tour at the SJM Macao Open. On the PGA Tour, Sepp Straka captured his second title of the season at the Truist Championship, climbing into the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking, while Stephan Jäger notched another top-10 finish.
