Bernhard Langer’s Final Masters Start
Few moments defined the German golf year 2025 like Bernhard Langer’s last appearance at the Masters in Augusta. After 41 appearances, two Green Jackets, and countless rounds, the 67-year-old bid farewell to the place that made him famous. The spectators rose, applauding him along each fairway. His farewell round did not reach the weekend but ended with an emotional goodbye on the 18th green. Langer, accompanied by his son Jason as caddie, said goodbye to a place that shaped him and which he helped shape.
New Victories and Emerging Talents
But the final chapter was not yet written. Only months later, Langer showed at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open that he remains competitive, setting a new tournament record with 21 under par and taking victory on home soil. Shortly after, Alex Cejka celebrated his first title in two years at the SAS Championship in the USA, maintaining consistency and securing a top 15 spot in the Schwab Cup Rankings. The next generation stepped into the spotlight when Nicolai von Dellingshausen claimed his first major win at the Austrian Alpine Open on the DP World Tour, supported by Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivering top performances. Laura Fünfstück also triumphed for the first time after over 100 starts at the PIF London Championship, overcoming an early final-round setback to clinch victory, while Olivia Cowan tied for fourth. Twenty-year-old amateur Tim Wiedemeyer turned heads at the BMW International Open with a 66 on Friday, finishing in the top 15, showing promising signs alongside established players like Marcel Siem and Martin Kaymer. Dominic Foos brought home a first Asian Tour win at the SJM Macao Open after steady play across rounds. Back on the PGA Tour, Sepp Straka secured his signature victory at the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow, his second PGA title of the season, climbing to second in the FedExCup and breaking into the top 10 in the world rankings, while Stephan Jäger finished tied for seventh, marking his third top-10 of the season.
