Golf Week Preview: Four Tournaments and Many German Starters

Four tours offer seven days of golf action from the Bahamas to the PGA Tour and Dubai with several German players. The golf week preview:

Korn Ferry Tour: Long Monday in the Bahamas

The international golf week kicks off early with the Korn Ferry Tour at the Great Abaco Club on Winding Bay in the Bahamas, where the first round of the Bahamas Great Abaco Classics is underway. Due to fading daylight, the first round could not be completed as scheduled, resulting in a particularly long Monday on the course. The clubhouse leaderboard currently shows a round of -5 leading, while Ben Taylor is set to improve on his strong performance of 15 holes at -6, currently holding solo lead.

The tournament runs until Wednesday and is broadcast daily from 8:00 PM on MagentaTV.

DP World Tour: Star-Studded Field and Strong German Presence in Dubai

The DP World Tour remains in Dubai at the Emirates Golf Club for the Hero Dubai Desert Classic starting Thursday. Seven German-speaking players are in the field competing for the $9 million prize fund. Among them are Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Freddy Schott, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jeremy Paul. International star power is guaranteed with Rory McIlroy, a four-time winner of the event, among the favorites, along with Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Reed, and Francesco Molinari. Nacho Elvira, fresh off a win in Dubai last week, will also tee off with added confidence.

The Dubai Desert Classic will be broadcast on MagentaTV at 8:30 AM Thursday and Friday, with broadcasts starting at 8:00 AM over the weekend.

PGA Tour: Scheffler Begins 2026 Golf Season

The PGA Tour also starts Thursday at the Pete Dye Stadium Course in La Quinta, California, marking Scottie Scheffler’s start to the 2026 season. After an outstanding 2025, the world number one aims to continue his success, with the American Express Championship title still elusive. Austrian defending champion Sepp Straka is back, while players like Ryan Gerard and Patrick Rodgers, who placed second and third at the Dubai Invitational respectively, hope to maintain form. German representatives include Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid.

MagentaTV will broadcast daily from Thursday to Saturday starting at 5:30 PM.

PGA Tour Champions: Legends Take on Hawaii

The PGA Tour Champions kicks off the week’s conclusion with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai, Hawaii, from Friday to Sunday. German golf greats Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka will compete alongside international stars such as Miguel Ángel Jiménez. Vijay Singh, warming up after making the PGA Tour cut last week, is also in the field.

Live coverage from Hawaii on MagentaTV starts Friday at 1:00 AM.
