Golf Week Preview: Four Tournaments with German Stars Abroad

Four tours offer a full week of golf from the Bahamas to the PGA Tour and Dubai, featuring several German players. The golf week preview:

Korn Ferry Tour: Long Monday in the Bahamas

The international golf week kicks off early and starts in the Bahamas with the Korn Ferry Tour. At the Great Abaco Club on Winding Bay, the first round of the Bahamas Great Abaco Classics is underway. Due to fading daylight, the first round could not be completed on Sunday, resulting in a particularly long day of golf on Monday. Currently, a round of -5 leads the clubhouse, while Ben Taylor still has to finish strong; after 15 holes, he is at -6 and currently alone in the lead.

The tournament runs through Wednesday and is broadcast daily from 8:00 PM on MagentaTV.

DP World Tour: Star-Studded Field and Strong German Presence in Dubai

The DP World Tour remains in Dubai, hosted at the Emirates Golf Club. Seven German-speaking players tee off at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic starting Thursday. Alongside Nicolai von Dellingshausen and Marcel Siem, players like Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Freddy Schott, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jeremy Paul compete for a $9 million prize fund. International star power is guaranteed with Rory McIlroy, a four-time winner of the event, among the favorites. Also participating are Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Reed, and Francesco Molinari. Nacho Elvira returns with extra confidence following his win in Dubai last week.

The Dubai Desert Classic is broadcast Thursday and Friday starting at 8:30 AM on MagentaTV, with weekend coverage beginning at 8:00 AM.

PGA Tour: Scheffler Begins 2026 Season

The PGA Tour also gets underway on Thursday at the Pete Dye Stadium Course in La Quinta, California, marking Scottie Scheffler’s start to the 2026 season. After an outstanding 2025, the world number one aims to continue his success. A title at the American Express Championship is still missing from his resume.

Defending champion Sepp Straka of Austria returns, alongside German contenders Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid. It will also be interesting to see if Ryan Gerard (second place) and Patrick Rodgers (third place) at the Dubai Invitational can maintain their strong recent form.

MagentaTV broadcasts daily from Thursday through Saturday starting at 5:30 PM.

PGA Tour Champions: Legends Play in Hawaii

The week concludes with the PGA Tour Champions’ Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai, Hawaii, from Friday through Sunday. German legends Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka compete alongside international stars like Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Vijay Singh, who warmed up with a made cut on the PGA Tour last week.

Live coverage from Hawaii starts Friday at 1:00 AM on MagentaTV.
