The 2026 season offers a rich schedule for golf fans, spanning prestigious men’s and women’s Majors, the Solheim Cup, and top tournaments in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige, and Iconic Venues
The men’s Major season traditionally kicks off with the legendary Masters from April 9-12 at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA. Rory McIlroy, who achieved a career Grand Slam in 2025 as the first European to do so by winning the Masters, returns as the defending champion. Mid-May features the PGA Championship from May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania. The summer shines with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York. In 2025, American J.J. Spaun secured the title on home soil. The men’s Major season concludes with The Open from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in England, where Scottie Scheffler won his second Major title last season.
Five Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup
The women’s 2026 calendar is packed with highlights beginning with the Chevron Championship in Texas from April 23-26. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club in California. In 2025, Swedish star Maja Stark won her first Major and ended a 19-year European drought at the US Women’s Open. Next is the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota. July features the Amundi Evian Championship from July 9-12 in Evian-les-Bains, France, concluding the Major season with the AIG Women’s Open July 30-August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in England. A special highlight in 2026 is the Solheim Cup, the premier women’s team event held biennially. It will be contested September 11-13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands, featuring European stars like Anne Van Dam, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall, and Mel Reid.
Four Tournaments in German-Speaking Countries
Golf fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can enjoy world-class competition with four DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour events. The Austrian Alpine Open runs May 28-31 at Golfclub Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith. Another highlight is the BMW International Open July 2-5 at Golfclub München Eichenried, featuring 17 German-speaking players in 2025. The Ladies European Tour plays the Amundi German Masters May 14-17 on the North Course of Green Eagle Golf Courses near Hamburg, promising excitement following five German top-20 finishes last year. The VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open follows August 13-15 at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern in Switzerland.
