The week kicks off in the Bahamas with the Korn Ferry Tour at the Great Abaco Club on Winding Bay where the first round of the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic is underway. The DP World Tour remains in Dubai, moving to the Emirates Golf Club for the Hero Dubai Desert Classic starting Thursday. The field features seven German-speaking players, including Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Freddy Schott, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jeremy Paul. International star power includes four-time champion Rory McIlroy, who is one of the favorites again this year.
On the PGA Tour, play also begins Thursday on the Pete Dye Stadium Course in La Quinta, California. Scottie Scheffler kicks off the 2026 golf season aiming to continue his success after a dream year in 2025. One title still missing from the world number one’s portfolio is the American Express Championship. Austrian defending champion Sepp Straka returns, with German contenders Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid also competing.
The PGA Tour Champions season opens with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai from Friday to Sunday featuring legends like Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka from Germany. They face competition from Vijay Singh, who warmed up with a made cut on the PGA Tour in Hawaii last week.
