Shining in Dubai, starting in Hawaii: The DP World Tour kicks off the International Swing, the PGA Tour starts the year without its usual opening event. Golf on TV goes live.
The International Swing of the DP World Tour begins with the Dubai Invitational at Dubai Creek Resort. Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood faces a star-studded field including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Francesco Molinari, as well as Masters champions like Patrick Reed. The event is played in a Pro-Am format (60 pros, 60 amateurs) before the professionals compete for the title on Sunday. Representing Germany, Nicolai von Dellingshausen and Marcel Siem kick off the new season.
The PGA Tour 2026 season begins unusually: due to ongoing drought, The Sentry in Kapalua was cancelled. Instead, the Sony Open at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu starts the new season. Players compete for $9.1 million and the first FedExCup points of the season. Defending champion Nick Taylor participates along with former winners and Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley. German pride is represented by Matti Schmid.
