The PGA Tour kicks off this week at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California at the Riviera Country Club, hosted by Tiger Woods. Although only Matti Schmid from the German-speaking region will showcase his skills, the tournament features a high-profile field of prominent names competing for valuable points on the World Ranking. The total prize fund is $20,000,000. Besides defending champion Ludvig Åberg, World Number 1 Scottie Scheffler will also participate. Other top players include Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, and many more, completing the elite lineup. The DP World Tour moves to Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open in the capital Nairobi. Here, many more German-speaking players are on the entry list. Successful Düsseldorf native Freddy Schott is joined from the DACH region by Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, although the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players.
