The PGA Tour kicks off this week with the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California, at the Riviera Country Club, hosted by Tiger Woods. While only Matti Schmid represents the German-speaking region, the tournament boasts a high-caliber field of prominent names competing for crucial points in the Official World Golf Ranking. The total prize fund is $20,000,000. Alongside defending champion Ludvig Åberg, world number one Scottie Scheffler will be competing. Other top players include Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, and many more completing this elite lineup. The DP World Tour moves to Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open in Nairobi’s capital. Here, a notable number of German-speaking players are on the entry list. This season’s already very successful Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf is joined by Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, although the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players. The LPGA Tour travels to Pattaya, Thailand, for the Honda LPGA Thailand. Esther Henseleit is the sole representative from the German-speaking region this week. This tournament is broadcast live by Sky Sports Golf.
