The PGA Tour kicks off this week at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California at the Riviera Country Club, hosted by Tiger Woods. Although only Matti Schmid represents the German-speaking region, the tournament features a high-profile field of prominent names competing for important points on the Official World Golf Ranking. The total prize money is $20,000,000. Defending champion Ludvig Åberg will compete alongside world number one Scottie Scheffler. Other top players include Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, and many more who complete the elite field. The DP World Tour heads to Nairobi, Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open. More German-speaking players join the field this time, including already very successful Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf, accompanied by Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, although the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players.
