The 2026 golf season offers fans a packed calendar ranging from the prestigious men’s and women’s Majors to the Solheim Cup and key tournaments in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige, and Iconic Venues

The men’s Major season kicks off traditionally with the legendary Masters from April 9-12 at Augusta National Golf Club, Georgia, USA. After Rory McIlroy became the sixth player and first European ever to complete a career Grand Slam with his 2025 Masters win, he returns as defending champion. The PGA Championship follows from May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club, Pennsylvania. Summer brings the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, New York, where American J.J. Spaun won in 2025. The men’s Major season concludes with The Open from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, England, where Scottie Scheffler secured his second Major of the year in 2025.

Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup Excitement

The women’s Major schedule in 2026 starts with the Chevron Championship from April 23-26 in Texas. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club, California. In 2025, Sweden’s Maja Stark claimed her first Major and the first European title at the US Women’s Open in 19 years. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship runs June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club, Minnesota. July features the Amundi Evian Championship from July 9-12 in France, concluding with the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, England. A highlight of 2026 is the biennial Solheim Cup, held September 11-13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands. European team members include Anne Van Dam, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall, and Mel Reid.

Four Premier Events in the German-speaking Region

Golf fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can enjoy four high-profile tournaments. The DP World Tour features the Austrian Alpine Open May 28-31 at Golfclub Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith and the BMW International Open July 2-5 at Golfclub München Eichenried, with 17 German-speaking players competing in 2025. The Ladies European Tour hosts the Amundi German Masters May 14-17 at Green Eagle Golf Courses near Hamburg, showcasing strong German performances in 2025. The VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open occurs August 13-15 at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern, Switzerland.
