Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige and Iconic Venues

The traditional start of the men’s Major season is the legendary Masters from April 9-12. Mid-May features the PGA Championship from May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. The summer kicks off with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. In 2025, U.S. player J.J. Spaun claimed the title on home turf. The men’s Major season closes traditionally with The Open from July 16-19 at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Following Scottie Scheffler’s success at the PGA Championships, he secured his second Major title of the year at The Open last season.

The Five Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup

The women’s golf calendar in 2026 is packed with highlights as well. It begins traditionally with the Chevron Championship in Texas from April 23-26. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place from June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. In 2025, Swedish player Maja Stark won her first Major, the first European victory at the US Women’s Open in 19 years. This is followed by the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship from June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. July features the Amundi Evian Championship from July 9-12 at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, before the Major season closes with the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.

A special highlight in 2026 is the Solheim Cup, the premier women’s team event held every two years. It will take place from September 11-13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Dutch player Anne Van Dam is joined by well-known European team members including Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall and Mel Reid.
