Callaway’s new S2S TRI-HOT series aims to transform putting with a redesigned shaft, new insert, and optimized weight.
The S2S TRI-HOT series from Callaway is designed to elevate the putting experience—not through flashy features, but through smart engineering. The shaft is mounted directly on the topline of the putter head, eliminating visible shaft lean and forced address positions. This setup could appeal to players who previously struggled with zero torque putters.
Callaway puts weight where it matters
Inside the putter head, Callaway has made several key adjustments. The construction blends aluminum, steel, and over 140 grams of tungsten to position more mass high in the clubhead. According to the company, more than 80 percent of the weight sits just below the topline. This is intended to enhance balance and control by stabilizing the motion where it counts most.
New insert for consistent roll
Callaway also reimagined the face insert. The Ai-DUAL Insert features two urethane layers: a softer outer and a firmer inner layer. Developed with the help of artificial intelligence, the insert aims to maintain ball speed on off-center hits. The Forward Roll Design—face grooves angled at 19 degrees—is engineered to promote consistent forward spin across the entire face.
Grip, shaft, and setup redefined
The grip was redesigned based on Tour feedback, resulting in a Pistol-Plus model with defined edges for better face alignment feedback. The SL 120 shaft features a black PVD finish and is stiffer and heavier than previous models, again based on professional input. For those who prefer a longer and heavier setup, the Jailbird Cruiser offers a 38-inch shaft, extended 17-inch grip, and a heavier head.
