DP World Tour: Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship opens Playoff phase

The DP World Tour season nears its conclusion as the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship marks the start of the Playoffs this weekend. Held at Yas Links Golf Course on the western shore of Yas Island, the event promises a world-class challenge. After 40 tournaments across 27 countries, only two Rolex Series events remain to determine the Race to Dubai champion. The top 70 players in the Race to Dubai standings will compete for 9,000 ranking points. Rory McIlroy leads the standings by a wide margin over England’s Marco Penge.

PGA Tour: World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico

The PGA Tour heads to Mexico this weekend for the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas. With $7.2 million in prize money, the field includes 2025 Ryder Cup-winning captain Luke Donald and world number six J.J. Spaun. German players Stephan Jäger, Jeremy Paul, Thomas Rosenmüller, and Matti Schmid are also in the field, aiming to secure valuable FedEx Cup points. The course, designed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design, features an ‘Old California’ layout. Sky Sports will broadcast the event live from Thursday to Sunday at 9:00 PM CET.

LPGA and LET: Action in Japan and China

The LPGA Tour travels to Japan for the TOTO Japan Classic at Seta Golf Course, where Aline Krauter will face recent Maybank Championship winner Miyu Yamashita. The prize purse stands at $2.1 million. Meanwhile, the Ladies European Tour hosts the Aramco China Championship at Mission Hills in Shenzhen. The event takes place on the Jack Nicklaus-designed World Cup Course, the first PGA-recognized venue in China. German-speaking players including Olivia Cowan and Emma Spitz will compete on the world’s largest golf complex.
