DP World Tour: Pro Golfers’ Goals for 2026 Season Unveiled

The 2026 DP World Tour season kicked off in December, with players now setting their goals and hoping to take the next step.

As the 2026 season begins in earnest this week, the DP World Tour returns to action with the Dubai Invitational, marking the first events of the year following tournaments held late last year. Naturally, the pros have shared their New Year’s resolutions for the upcoming season.

From Securing a PGA Tour Card to Season Victories

In a DP World Tour video on X (formerly Twitter), players were asked directly about their goals for the year, revealing a range of ambitions. Frenchman Martin Couvra exuded confidence, aiming to finish in the top 15 of the Race to Dubai to secure his PGA Tour card for 2027. After a strong 2025, when he finished 19th and narrowly missed out on the PGA Tour, this is an achievable target for the 22-year-old.

However, the most frequent answer was the desire to win tournaments. Players like Marcus Armitage and Ashun Wu, despite several years on tour, remain hungry to prove their capabilities. Wu shared a simple philosophy: “My first goal is to win a tournament. Once you win the first, the second can follow soon after.”

DP World Tour’s Shooting Star Stays Humble

The breakout star of the current DP World Tour season is undoubtedly Jayden Schaper. In three events last December, he finished tied second once and won the subsequent two tournaments. These were his first DP World Tour victories, undoubtedly boosting his confidence. Yet the 24-year-old South African remained modest in an interview: “I just want to have a solid season,” said Schaper. “Of course, I had a great start, and I want to maintain that consistency.”
