Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation at the end of last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following an anti-doping rule violation detected during a doping control late in the 2025 season.
Prohibited Herbal Supplement Found
According to the European Tour Group, Green tested positive for a banned substance which he had ingested as part of a medical treatment contained in a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated and did not intentionally take the substance. Nevertheless, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in the suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension
Green’s three-month suspension is retroactive, effective from December 5, 2025, making him eligible to compete again starting with the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retroactively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was conducted.
The European Tour Group has declared they will not comment further on the suspension and confirmed Green has accepted the sanction.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
After a successful amateur career in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved several strong results. His biggest career success came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, where he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, Green has recorded three runner-up finishes and two third-place results to date.
