Gavin Green was retroactively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation at the end of last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected at the end of the 2025 season.
Banned Herbal Supplement Detected
According to the European Tour Group, Gavin Green tested positive for a banned substance found in a herbal supplement he took as part of medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally ingest the substance. Nevertheless, DP World Tour anti-doping rules apply, resulting in his suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension
Gavin Green’s three-month retroactive suspension started on December 5, 2025, allowing him to return to competition at the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified post-event from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test that led to the suspension was conducted.
The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension, and that Green has accepted his penalty.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
Turning professional in 2015 after a successful amateur career in Asia, Gavin Green achieved his greatest success on the Asian Tour in 2017. He won the Order of Merit that year, becoming the first Malaysian golfer to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has achieved three runner-up finishes and two third-place results to date.
