DP World Tour Player Gavin Green Suspended for Three Months Due to Doping

Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months following a doping violation last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian Gavin Green has been suspended for three months due to a doping violation detected in a doping test at the end of the 2025 season.

Forbidden Herbal Supplements Detected

According to the European Tour Group, a banned substance was found in Gavin Green during medical treatment, taken as part of a herbal supplement. The tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and had not taken the substance intentionally. However, DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in the suspension.

Gavin Green Receives Retrospective Suspension

Gavin Green was given a retrospective three-month suspension effective from December 5, 2025. This means he will be eligible to play again from the Joburg Open of the DP World Tour on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retrospectively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test took place.

The European Tour Group stated they will not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted the ban.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years in Asian amateur golf, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved good results. His greatest career successes came in 2017 on the Asian Tour when he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has so far finished second three times and third twice in his career.
