DP World Tour Player Gavin Green Suspended for 3 Months Due to Doping

Gavin Green has been retroactively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation late last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during an end-of-season test in 2025.

Prohibited Herbal Supplement Detected

According to the European Tour Group, a positive test for a banned substance was found in Green’s system, which he had ingested as part of a medical treatment in a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not deliberately take the substance. However, the Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in a suspension.

Retroactive Suspension for Gavin Green

Gavin Green received a retroactive three-month suspension effective from December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to return to competition starting with the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retroactively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping control took place.

The European Tour Group has stated they will not comment further on the suspension, and Green has accepted the sanction.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years in Asian amateur golf, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His greatest successes came in 2017 on the Asian Tour when he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian ever to do so. On the DP World Tour, Green has secured three runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes in his career.
