Gavin Green Suspended for 3 Months by DP World Tour for Doping

Gavin Green has been retroactively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation late last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation discovered at the end of the 2025 season.

Prohibited Herbal Supplement Found

According to the European Tour Group, Gavin Green tested positive for a banned substance that he had taken as part of a medical treatment in a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated and did not intentionally consume the substance. However, DP World Tour’s anti-doping regulations require a suspension in such cases.

Retroactive Suspension Details

Green received a retroactive three-month suspension starting December 5, 2025, which means he will be eligible to compete again from the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. He was also disqualified retroactively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was conducted.

The European Tour Group declared they will not comment further and that Green has accepted his suspension.

First Malaysian to Win the Asian Tour Order of Merit

After successful years as an amateur in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His career highlights include winning the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2017, becoming the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has finished second three times and third twice.
