Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation late last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected at the end of the 2025 season.
Banned Herbal Supplement Detected
According to the European Tour Group, a prohibited substance was found in a herbal supplement that Gavin Green had taken as part of medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally use the supplement. Nevertheless, DP World Tour rules regarding anti-doping violations applied, resulting in a suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension
Gavin Green’s three-month suspension is retroactive, effective from December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to play again starting with the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, the event during which the doping test was conducted.
The European Tour Group announced that they will not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted his ban.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
After several successful years as an amateur in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved several good results. His career highlights came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, where he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian ever to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has secured three second-place and two third-place finishes so far.
