Gavin Green has been retroactively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation at the end of last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during a doping control at the end of the 2025 season.
Banned Herbal Supplement Found
According to the European Tour Group, Gavin Green tested positive for a prohibited substance which he took as part of a medical treatment in a herbal supplement. The tour stated that Green fully cooperated and did not take the supplement intentionally. Nonetheless, DP World Tour rules on anti-doping violations apply, resulting in his suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension
Green’s retroactive three-month suspension began on December 5, 2025. He is eligible to compete again starting from the Joburg Open of the DP World Tour on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retrospectively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, the event where the doping test was conducted.
The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted his penalty.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
After several successful years in the Asian amateur circuit, Green turned professional in 2015 and posted some strong results. His biggest achievements came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, winning the Order of Merit and becoming the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has recorded three second-place and two third-place finishes in his career so far.
