Gavin Green Suspended for 3 Months by DP World Tour for Doping Offense

Gavin Green has been retroactively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping offense at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected at the end of the 2025 season.

Prohibited Herbal Supplements Found

According to the European Tour Group, Gavin Green tested positive for a prohibited substance which he had ingested as part of a medical treatment involving a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally take the substance. However, DP World Tour’s anti-doping regulations still apply, resulting in the suspension.

Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension

Gavin Green’s retroactive three-month suspension started on December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to compete again from the Joburg Open of the DP World Tour, starting March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retroactively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was conducted.

The European Tour Group announced that they will not provide further comments on the suspension and stated that Green has accepted his penalty.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years in the Asian amateur circuit, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved solid results. His biggest career successes came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, where he won the Order of Merit and became the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has secured three runner-up and two third-place finishes so far.
